Established in 2005, Curtis Research is an independent consultancy managed by Mark Curtis. Mark is a former Research Fellow at the Royal Institute of International Affairs (Chatham House), Director of the World Development Movement and Head of Policy/Advocacy at Christian Aid and ActionAid.
Curtis Research was established to fill a gap - development research by academic and public policy institutes tends to be insufficiently critical of governments or companies and insufficiently action-oriented. But NGOs often need rigorous, detailed and comprehensive research and policy analysis to promote change.
